Rev. Nate Landis, M.Div., Ph.D., is the author of God Wants His Kids Back and the founder of Urban Youth Collaborative. He began his ministry at a Presbyterian church in Southern California and quickly realized that the kids in his community were never going to stumble inside his church — he would have to go to them. With the support of his wife, he quit his job and began an innovative youth ministry that focused on meeting kids’ needs, raising up student leaders, and mobilizing local churches to engage the next generation. It became known as Urban Youth Collaborative. Today, Urban Youth Collaborative reaches 3,500 kids every week at 100 schools in San Diego, Tijuana, Atlanta, and Columbia (South Carolina).
