URBAN YOUTH COLLABORATIVE's mission is to:

Win students to Christ, especially those from at-risk and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Connect them to a local church and the resources of their community.

Mobilize them as change agents who transform their own families, schools, and neighborhoods.

WIN THEM - CONNECT THEM - MOBILIZE THEM

Through training, coaching, and mentoring churches, student leaders, and people of faith, we want to spark a movement of public school ministry that spreads throughout the US and around the globe. It’s exhilarating to join Jesus as we passionately go after the next generation!

TOGETHER WE'RE MAKING A PRACTICAL DIFFERENCE
IN THE LIVES OF TEENAGERS, NOW AND FOREVER!

My name is Dr. Nate Landis, and I’m the author of God Wants His Kids Back and the founder of Urban Youth Collaborative.

When I began public school ministry in Southern California, I had a Master of Divinity degree, and I had been married for only 18 months. Although I had a well-paying job at a church with solid health benefits, God put a burden on my heart for students who never graced the doorstep of a church. As an outreach attempt, I volunteered to be the chaplain for a football team at a nearby school. Everything changed after that.

As I learned to know students at the school, I had a stark realization. “These kids are never going to accidentally stumble into the well-endowed Presbyterian stone castle I work at down the street,” I thought. “We need to go to where they are, to meet them on their own turf first.”

The journey of faith we stepped out to embrace became a longstanding, highly effective ministry that is now called Urban Youth Collaborative.
